Safeguard your pet against heartworm - and ensure he lives a long & happy life!

Exactly as the word states - heartworm - a parasite that invades your dog's heart.  Hopefully you, as a responsible pet owner, will consider safe guarding your dog from this potentially deadly disease with products such as Heartgard and Heartgard Plus.

Heartworm symptoms that you will notice in your pet include lethargy, lack of appetite, choosing not to eat as well as rapid breathing among others.  And did you know, more dogs than cats are affected by heartworm.

The known source in which your pet can contract heartworm disease is via infected mosquitoes who carry heartworms.  A wise step in prevention is to keep your pet indoors during mosquito season particularly during the late afternoon and evenings when mosquitoes are most active.

To reduce your pet's chances it may be beneficial to put proper fitting window screens.  A door screen is rather essential to reduce the onslaught and parade of mosquitoes into your home.  Should your home have damaged screens, fixing these will protect your pet from hungry mosquitoes whom could be infected with heartworms.
